Alejandra Pizarnik

Alejandra Pizarnik was born the 29 of April of 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied philosophy and letters in the University of Buenos Aires. She lived in Paris from 1960 to 1964 before returning to Buenos Aires.

"She is one of the most important poets of Argentina, of whose collection Arbol de Diana Octavio Paz wrote that it 'does not contain a single false detail'. Her work is confessional, oblique, dense. She described herself as 'a silent woman/... who sometimes flows with language.. 

She took her own life in 1972."
