Poet in the City at Ilkley Literature Festival

This October Poet in the City makes its first appearance at Ilkley Literature Festival, delivering a triple helping of phenomenal poets and women Vahni CapildeoMalika Booker and Khadijah Ibrahiim who'll be performing poetry inspired by Windrush British library collection and Leeds communities.

Chairing the event will be Dr Emily Zobel Marshall, lecturer and specialist in postcolonial theory at Leeds Beckett University - and poet in her own right. She will be joined by Leeds Libraries' Reader and Culture Development Manager Alison Millar, giving her perspective on the impact of the Collections in Verse process on engaging communities with libraries across Leeds.

Join us in this fresh take on the legacy and impact of Caribbean culture in Leeds today, and how we are using poetry to uncover these stories.
