We are delighted to report that Minoli Salgado's A Little Dust on the Eyes has been longlisted for the US $50,000 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature 2016.
There were over 75 entries for the DSC Prize this year, from which the jury has compiled the longlist of 11 books that they feel represent the best works of fiction related to the South Asian region. The shortlist will be announced in London on 26 November, with the overall prize being awarded in January. Read the full longlist
Peepal Tree's authors are no strangers to international prize success. Earlier this year Vladimir Lucien's Sounding Ground pipped Marlon James's A Brief History of Seven Killings to scoop the OCM Bocas prize for Caribbean Literature.
A Little Dust on the Eyes first came to our attention when it won the inaugural SI Leeds Literary Prize for unpublished fiction in 2012. We immediately fell in love with this brave and beautiful book and it is wonderful to see Minoli's book getting the recognition it so richly deserves!
