Peepal Tree poets awarded prestigious 2019 Windham-Campbell awards

Kwame Dawes and Ishion Hutchinson have been announced as 2019 recipients of Windham-Campbell awards worth $165,000 each! The Windham-Campbell prizes are global English-language awards that call attention to literary achievement and provide writers with the opportunity to focus on their work independent of financial concerns.

Peepal Tree Press is beyond proud to have published the debut collections of both poets, and Kwame Dawes now holds the role of associate poetry editor at Peepal Tree, and ‘discovered’ Ishion Hutchinson.
