Small Boat makes International Booker longlist

The International Booker Prize 2025 longlist was announced on Tuesday 25 February 2025 at 2pm (GMT) – and we're pleased to announce that Small Boat by Vincent Delecroix (Small Axes) is on the list. The longlist of 13 books – 11 novels and two collections of short stories – was chosen by the 2025 judging panel, chaired by bestselling Booker Prize-longlisted author Max Porter. The other judges are: prize-winning poet, director and photographer Caleb Femi; writer and Publishing Director of Wasafiri Sana Goyal; author and International Booker Prize-shortlisted translator Anton Hur; and award-winning singer-songwriter Beth Orton.

The longlist represents 13 authors making their International Booker Prize debut, including three with their first books and eight with their first English-language publications. Excitingly, we are proud to be only one of 11 independent publishers on the longlist – the highest number ever!
