Paper Based Bookshop Advent Calendar Day 18

Written by Neala Luna for Paper Based Bookshop on Wednesday, December 18, 2019

There is a place from which Doe Songs beckons: warm, soft, fragrant with earth waking up to rain. Still, Danielle’s poems move like the tides, swelling and receding, rippling and churning.

Exploring vivid worlds between birth and death, they are about becoming, about connections, deep love and eternal loss, and speak to the wild, instinctive travellers within us, reminding us that we are nature's creatures after all.

With insight and quiet truth, within these poems we become meat, we become bruise, and yet are offered solace and hope, a chance to empty into the sea and in the end, float free, rinsed clean like the moon.
