Who Asks the Caterpillar

Written by Simon Armitage for The Yorkshire Word on no date provided

In this, her first poetry collection, Huddersfield-based Anglo-Indian writer Jeanne Ellin finds inspiration in things as diverse as a turkey sandwich, plastic bath ducks, Trisha and the mythology of ancient Greece. She is particularly stuck by the way old myths still mirror the truth of modern women’s lives and subjects them to a humorous, womanist reading, set in the world of celebrity, daytime television and pop counselling.
