Zephaniah Speaks

The Frequency of Magic by Anthony Joseph, was a book I found hard to read at first. The main character is a butcher and there’s talk about meat, milk, hog roasting, and even black pudding, which is really tough for a vegan, but I have to come to terms with the fact that not everyone else is, and to be honest, most of the characters in my novels are not, but there’s just so much meat here. Importantly the story is about themes that could be applied to lots of lives, and this book really is about lots of lives.  Anthony is an absolutely brilliant writer, and I am sure that this a book that will be read for many years to come. Such is its depth.
