Christine Barrow
Christine Barrow was born in the UK, and has lived in Barbados for nearly fifty years where she worked as an academic in Caribbean Social Development at the University of the West Indies. Since retirement as Professor Emerita, she has participated in creative writing courses. She also attended the 2010 Cropper Foundation Writer’s Workshop in Trinidad and Tobago, and the 2015 Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop in Barbados.
Christine has received an Honorable Mention in the 2016 Frank Collymore Literary Endowment Competition, and her work has been published in Bim: Arts for the 21st Century, Poui: The Cave Hill Journal of Creative Writing, The Caribbean Writer, and Callaloo. Her story Panama Man, was short-listed in the 2015 Small Axe Literary Competition, and He Dances was awarded Bronze in the 2016 Barbados National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) Literary Competition.
