Inscribe writer Ioney Smallhorne has issued a call-out for illustrators to work on her children’s poetry collection. The call is open to artists of Caribbean heritage from the Midlands.
What’s on offer?
Otter-Barry Books is looking for an artist to illustrate Ioney Smallhorne’s first children’s (KS2, 7-11years old) poetry collection that focuses on meteorology, climate change, weather systems. Poems in the collection will have a strong Caribbean voice and leaning. The selected illustrator will produce grey scale/ black and white images to accompany the poems, and a colour front cover. Please note that this will not be a picture book.
Who can apply?
In an attempt to address inequality in the publishing industry, this opportunity is open to artists/illustrators from the Midlands of Caribbean heritage.
Fee: £2300
