Two Inscribers, Adam Lowe and Jocelyn Watson, were highly commended for the Jericho-Marjacq Bursary for under-represented writers 2018.
The 2018 winner was Carrie Nelson, with runners-up Indigo Griffiths, Dominic Nelson-Ashley, Julie Farrell, Ashley Hickson-Lovence and Jarred McGinnis. The highly commended writers were Adam and Jocelyn, Cathy Mark and Debjani Chatterjee.
'Here at Jericho Writers, we believe that all talented writers should have access to the advice and information they need,' said the organisers at Jericho Writers. 'As we grow, we want to offer as many bursaries and opportunities like this as possible, so do keep an eye out on more bursaries and offers for future events.'
The Jericho-Marjacq Bursary supports one talented writer from an underrepresented background with a fully-funded weekend ticket to the Jericho Festival of Writing 2018. The festival takes place in York from the 7-9 September, and the bursary includes travel to the festival (from within the UK), accommodation, food, workshops and unique extras. The prize also includes a special thirty minute one-to-one with one of the t agents from Marjcq Scripts.
Commended writers received a free one-year membership to Jericho Writers, which includes online tutorials, a unique service called AgentMatch, advice and information, and more.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any writer whose opportunities are limited by mental health, disability, identity or social circumstance.
