Inscribe-supported writer Maya Chowdhry is off to the Arran Poetry Adventure and will use the time to finalise the manuscript for her forthcoming chapbook, Fossil.

She has recently contributed 'Tea with Roget' for an augmented reality app, Beacons for Science, as part of European City of Science, Manchester. Visitors can download the free app during the festival, or have afternoon tea in the Portico Library on 28 July.

#WATCH: Choreopoems by Malika Booker and Karen McCarthy Woolf

Renowned poets Malika Booker, Kayo Chingonyi and Karen McCarthy Woolf have collaborated with dancers/choreographers Sean Graham, Ella Mesma and Leon Rose, to produce three dance poetry films. The films were created for Dancing with Words.

Malika's poem 'Sweet Liquor' is taken from her Booker prize winning collection Pepper Seed (Peepal Tree Press) and explores the world of the soca fete.

Vahni Capildeo at Paper Based Bookshop for NGC Bocas Lit Fest

Literary activity is abuzz this April, as Paper Based Bookshop gears up for the sixth annual NGC Bocas Lit Fest! It's an exciting time for writers, readers and all those who love books.
On Saturday 23 April, at 4.30 pm, the eve of Bocas, the bookshop's third official Evening of Tea and Readings for 2016 will be held.

The reading also marks Paper Based's 29th birthday!

Maya Chowdhry talks about Tales from the Towpath, Poetic Places

Inscribe’s Maya Chowdhry recently appeared at the launch of the Poetic Places app to give a talk on her Tales from the Towpath project.

The app, which is being championed by the British Library and TIME/IMAGE, aspires to give a renewed sense of place, to bring together written works, images and sounds to mean more than they do alone, and to bring literature into people’s everyday life in unexpected moments, allowing users to enjoy poetry and literature written about particular locations.
